The European Boat Championship 2025 was held on the Island of Fedje, Norway. With the Fedje Sea Fishing Club organising the event on behalf of EFSA Norway. Thursday 10th July and anglers found their way to the Newquay Rowing Club to register for this year’s Boat Championship, catch up with friends and enjoy a drink. For this year’s event two boats would launch from Newquay and two from Padstow. The draw had ensured that all anglers would fish one day from each port. Thursday the 19th June the opening ceremony took place at the Deltapark, Neeeltje Jans. The draw for boats was held after which ther was a break for nibbles which were brought round to go with the two complimentary beers. This year’s competition took place for the first time on Saturday with the AGM taking place on the following day at Weymouth Angling Society. The weather was kind to us and 20 anglers took part fishing from Snapper and Offshore Rebel. On Friday 29th November, we met at the The Old Ship Aground to register for the two-day EFSA England Species event fishing for conger eels and rays. Other fish over 5lb in weight would also count.
