European Shore Championship

The Headquarters, The Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon, was excellent with good food, helpful staff and a well stocked bar. Registration and drawing for zones went on late into the night.
Day 1; Fishing from Abersech beach 16:00-21:00. Fishing was scratchy with. strap Congers, Flounders, L.S.D and Whiting making up limited catches with 16 anglers blanking on the night.
Day 2; Fishing from Pwllheli Town beach 16:00-21:00. Scratchy fishing again ensued due in part to clear skies and below zero temperatures. Bags consisted of Dabs, Flounders, L.S.D and Whiting with 12 anglers blanking.
Day 3; Fishing from Pwllheli Town beach during daylight 11:00-16:00. The weather and fishing conditions were atrocious from the outset with Eel grass and assorted flotsam making fishing nearly impossible coupled with driving rain and strong Northerly winds direct into your face throughout the match. Species recorded were: Bass, Flounder, L.S.D, Pollack and Whiting. A total of 34 anglers blanked on this occasion.
The 2007 European Shore Champion was Frank de Koop of Section Netherlands and the winning Section team the Netherlands.

England A & B finished 7 th and 8 th respectively from the 10 National Section teams competing.
Janet Sargeant gained the Silver medal in the Ladies category and John Campbell was paired with Hans Glaeser of Germany in the Open Pairs to be awarded the Bronze medal.
