Results – Flounder Festival 2007

Flounder Festival Poole
2007

Despite local reports of plenty of Flounders about, adverse tides caused the fishing to be somewhat slow for most of the day.8.45am saw the shore anglers disappear off to the local hotspots whilst the boats motored off to the recognised mark opposite the Ferry terminal. A few fish showed in the first hour on the last of the ebb, however, as the tide eased so did the fishing and two of the boats Josephine and Gemini decided on a move. This did not prove to be the right decision however, as a late flurry of fish in the last hour saw the other two boats Ooker (10 fish) and Aeries Two (7 fish) weigh in the most fish from the original mark. Over all winners was Marcus Wuest who produced a late run of three fish for 4 lb 15oz in the last hour aboard Ooker. The heaviest Flounder of 2 lb 12 oz was also caught aboard Ooker by Ray Barron, narrowly edging out a fish of 2 lb 11 oz caught by one of our juniors Sam Short on Josephine. Sam however collected the top junior prize ahead of James Lane.
