Flounder Festival Poole
This year’s Flounder Festival was again well attended with 40 anglers from boat and shore trying to be crowned the EFSA Flounder (bob) King.
It was good to see 4 juniors fishing and giving their dads a run for their money!
At 8.45 the 8 beach anglers headed off to their marks and the boats started to depart with a few anglers wishing they had not downed that final drink the night before, not mentioning any names Ashley!
The weather, well what can you say but****, its a few years since It’s been that cold! Luckily the rain kept away but there was a biting South-westerly force 6 wind.
There had been varied reports on the Flounder fishing so we were ever optimistic.
There were 4 boats in the competition, 2 of them went up the river to Wareham the other two went to there favourite marks in the bay.
At the weigh in there were a lot of cold anglers but all in good spirits with plenty of banter.
The shore Anglers did not fare so well with only 1 angler bringing a fish to the scales the boats had various results with Josephine 17, Our Gemma 8, Ooker 5 and Shar 3.
