This year Species Championship was held at Minehead on 11th and 12th November with the HQ at The Old ship Aground.
After twelve and a half hours fishing over the two days only two cod were caught, both within a few minutes of each other and they were of course both 67cm. So, Mark Smith and Marcus Wuest have a gold species pin each. Fishing was very good over the two days with lots of rays, conger and huss being caught. Great venue and good fun, shame about the number of cod. Well done to Mark and Marcus.
Thanks to the skippers of Teddy Boy, Osprey and Fulmar for their efforts to find the elusive cod especially Mike Webber for his help with the organisation and for getting the bait. Thanks also to the staff at the Old Ship Aground for looking after us so well.
